Mobility, sustainability, a flexible approach in adapting the Expo to the city’s rapid changes and the links with the region; these were the themes discussed by Lucio Stanca, Expo managing director, speaking at the Cities and Global Events Forum in Madrid. Stanca explained that events like Expo represent an opportunity to rethink the city and announced that the best architects in the world will be involved in the Milan Expo, adding that it is necessary to ''develop a vision that acts a guide to the project, promotes a governance that involves all the stakeholders, attracts visitors through communication and good marketing''. ''The World’s Fairs have a clear component of redefining the urban fabric for the host cities. The driving factors for success can be very different for each different city, and a best practice developed in a given urban context may not work if applied in the historic, social and geographical context of a different city'', said Stanca.
